Graduation 2010
Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management (SMSH), celebrated its Sixth Graduation Ceremony on 14th May, 2010 at Soaltee Crowne Plaza amidst of a lavish ceremony and cultural programme organised by the junior students. Between the panas lighting ceremony and welcoming speech there were school videos presentation, ?We are the world, we are the children? originally sung by Sir Bob Goldof, ?Mero Nepal? originally sung by Raju Lama, and diyo ceremony. A lit diyo signifies the light of knowledge and this aspect was illustrated by the poem ?Just One?. It was another milestone for SMSH. This year SMSH with great pride has sent 70 confident Hospitality graduates and 14 budding chefs. (Diploma in International Culinary Arts, AHA) to venture into the world of hospitality. Despite a less than rosy economic situation at home and abroad due to the global recession, these students are clearly ready to face the challenge, assured in the fact the school has prepared them for the exciting and challenging world of hospitality. These students, like the previous graduates, will find placement in resorts, hotels, cruise lines, airlines and restaurants. An inspiring speech was delivered by the President of AHA, Ms. Cindy Reiman, where she highlighted the opportunity awaiting our SMSH gradutes after their gradution, in the field of Hospitality. Ms. Reinam?s speech was followed by another speech by Ms. Sujina Jooste, Executive Chef and director from American Hospitality Academy, South Africa. Mr. Samir Thapa, principal of the College, welcomed all the guests present and shared some of SMSH?s achievements. SMSH has been able to maintain its overall goal of providing quality education for creating skilled individuals of international standards. Mr. Samir Thapa also elaborated on the various agreements with partner Universities and Colleges around the globe. Total of eighty-four graduates were felicitated during the ceremony. ?The Outstanding Student ? award was given to Ms. Chandrika Gurung for overall performance and the ?Best Student among Hospitality? was awarded to Ms. Sita Poudel and ?Best Student among Culinary Arts? was awarded to for academic excellence to Mr. Zenith Kandel, the ?Best Teacher Award? was presented to Mr. Tilak Sapkota while ?Best Employee Award? was presented to Ms. Pashi Tamang. And later in the evening all the students celebrated a ?Prom Night? at 1905 Restaurant with music dance and lavish dinner. It was time to relax and take a well deserved break from studies and project work. Teachers, students, staff and invitees all were taking in cool breeze and cooler music. Overall all it wsa a day filled with heartfelt music, good food and joyous moments.We can hardly wait for the next year?s ceremony.
 
GRADUATION 2009
Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management (SMSH) celebrated its fifth Graduation Ceremony on 16 May,2009 at Soaltee Crowne Plaza in midst of a lavish ceremony and cultural programme organized by the junior students. Between the panas lighting ceremony and welcoming speech there were school video presntation, ”When the Children Cry” originally sung by White Lion, drama, and diya ceremony. A lit diyo signifies the light of knowledge. And finally the Nobel Lauret Rabindranath Tagore?s inspirational prayer ”Where the mind is without fear”. It was another milestone for SMSH.

With great pride SMSH has sent 47 confident graduates to venture in the world of hospitality. Despite less than rosy economic situation at home and abroad due to global recession, these students were clearly ready to face the challenges assured in the fact the school had prepared them in the exciting and challenging world of hospitality. These students like the previous graduates will find placements in resorts, hotels, cruise lines, airlines and restaurants.

Mr. Samir Thapa, principal of the College welcomed all present and shared some of SMSH's achievement. SMSH has been able to maintain its overall goal of providing quality education for creating skilled manpower of international standard. The Chief Guest, Mr Prachanda Man Shrestha, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board reminded the students to be enterprenuers and create employement instead seeking employment.

Forty seven graduates were felicitated during the ceremony. ”The Outstanding Student” award was given to Ayushma Ghimire for overall performance and ”Best Student” was awarded to Mr. Umesh Ghaju for being academically excellent. ”Best Teacher Award” was given to Mr. Ajit Doddabela while ”Best Employee” award was presented to Mr. Deependra Manandhar. This year SMSH showed its appreciation to supporting hotels who provided intership opportunities to its students.They were:

Over all it was the day filled with heartfelt music, good food , joyous moments. We can hardly wait for the next years ceremony.
 
Silver Mountain, School of Hotel Management holds prom night
Silver Mountain, School of Hotel Management held it's first PROM NIGHT at Viva Banquet Hall Teku. After the exciting 5th Graduation Ceremony held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, it was night of fun and dance organized by the junior students. Students dressed in their party best, were living it up to celebrate the graduation. Ms. Elina Rajbhandari and Mr. Prabesh Gurung were crowned the prom queen and king.
