| Feasibility Study Presentation |
The Annual ‘Feasibility Study Presentation’ on Restaurant and Bar was held by the 4th Semester students at Nagarkot, a hill station near Kathmandu Valley. This was a part of the Food & Management course. This year the presentation was held over two days. Students were divided into 12 groups, each compromising 9 students.
Each group presented the feasibility study of opening a Food & Beverage Establishment. Students were interviewed, questioned and their work scrutinized on their understanding of the project, with respect to marketing skills, their presentation and speaking skills and the innovation behind their projects.
This year the panel of judges were:

- · Mr. Sugam Tamrakar – Sales Manager, Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu
- · Mr. Sunil Shrestha – Coordinator – Administration & Placement, SMSH
The Top group and Top Individual Position were given a Directors Dinner held at 8 Degree Restaurant, Jhamsikhel.

This annual event is an opportunity for our students to deviate from their daily college lives. This event allows the students to show their skills, team work and fine tune their skills learnt at Silver Mountain. This yearly event also prepares our students to venture out into Hospitality world. They will leave for an internship in various five star properties after this event.

| London Reunion 2011 |
| London Reunion was held on Feb 6,2011. It was attended by our Principal
Mr. Samir Thapa and Director Mrs. Rachana Thapa. There were Seventeen
Students who attended the reunion. We are proud to know that all of them
are pursuing their career in hospitality in different Hotels & Resorts in
UK. It was great sharing of their experience while working in UK. Reunion
was held at Whitechappel Street on 6 Feb,2011. |

| Certificate Distribution Ceremony |
On an auspicious ocassion of 32nd World Tourism Day,2010,on 27 September 2010, Silver Mountain School Of Hotel Management organised a Certification Distribution Ceremony.Organisers and volunteeers who made a Fun Food Fest 2010 a success,were awarded on this day.Students were awarded certificates to acknowledge their impressive performance during the festival. The Award holders were officially presented with their awards by Founder Principal Mr. Samir Thapa- CHE, at an official ceremony held at Silver Mountain premise, Lainchour.
Addressing the Award Distribution Ceremony, Principal / Chairman Mr. Samir Thapa also congratulated the students who were selected for internship program at an award winning property, Lahari Resort, Hyderabad, India. The six months long SMSH internship program is aimed to improve the practical knowledge of students while also working at renowned local or international hotels and resorts. The ceremony was also aimed to bid farewell to the selected interns.The programme ended with a thank you note from principal. |

| Final Food and Beverage Project 2010 |
Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management facilitates their 4th semester students to organize an academic presentation every year. The final Food and Beverage related projects, which the students gets to decide on, are chosen after the completion of 2 years in SMSH, and are presented to the jury of experts at different venues. The presentation runs for 3 days, with Food and Beverage experts from different hotels as judges. This year the presentation was held at Nagarkot, a hill station near Kathmandu Valley. Students from the 4th semester were split into groups of 8, each comprising 8-9 students. Each group was to present the feasibility study of opening a Food and Beverage establishment or restaurant .
Students were interviewed, questioned rigorously, and their work scrutinized on their understanding of the project, with respect to marketing skills, their presentation and speaking skills, and the innovation behind their projects.

| Silver Mountain Fun Food Festival 2010 |
Silver Mountain Fun Food Festival 2010 was organized by the 7th Semester students of Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management, Lainchaur, Kathmandu, Nepal.This grand event was held on 30 and 31 July, 2010 at newly opened Lainchaur Banquet, Lainchaur. The festival was supported by the Nepal Tourism Board and the Hotel Association of Nepal. It featured stalls from many renowned restaurants. Silver Mountain Students also had their own stalls for food,drinks and many entertaining games. The other major attractions were bingo, nail art and face painting. This event also featured a musical performance by Ashesh & Nekhvam. Guests were enjoying mouth watering food, games and live music performance and dj's as well. Later in the evening, covered hall was brought alive with some neat dancing moves as DJ was playing foot tapping numbers!
The organizers donated 20 percent of the profits to an old-age home and to "Bal Bhojan", a program that focuses on feeding hungry children. Overall, it was a overwhelmingly successful program. Since this was an academic project of a students, overall management and marketing were done by the student group itself. This will be an yearly event of SMSH students. |

| Prom Night 2010 |
| Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management (SMSH) held it's second PROM NIGHT at 1905, Kantipath. After the exciting 6th Graduation Ceremony held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, it was night of fun and dance organized by the junior students. Students dressed in their party best, were living it up to celebrate the graduation. At last the prom queen and king were crowned.

| Graduation 2010 |
| Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management (SMSH), celebrated its Sixth Graduation Ceremony on 14th May, 2010 at Soaltee Crowne Plaza amidst of a lavish ceremony and cultural programme organised by the junior students. Between the panas lighting ceremony and welcoming speech there were school videos presentation, ?We are the world, we are the children? originally sung by Sir Bob Goldof, ?Mero Nepal? originally sung by Raju Lama, and diyo ceremony. A lit diyo signifies the light of knowledge and this aspect was illustrated by the poem ?Just One?. It was another milestone for SMSH.
This year SMSH with great pride has sent 70 confident Hospitality graduates and 14 budding chefs. (Diploma in International Culinary Arts, AHA) to venture into the world of hospitality. Despite a less than rosy economic situation at home and abroad due to the global recession, these students are clearly ready to face the challenge, assured in the fact the school has prepared them for the exciting and challenging world of hospitality. These students, like the previous graduates, will find placement in resorts, hotels, cruise lines, airlines and restaurants.
An inspiring speech was delivered by the President of AHA, Ms. Cindy Reiman, where she highlighted the opportunity awaiting our SMSH gradutes after their gradution, in the field of Hospitality. Ms. Reinam?s speech was followed by another speech by Ms. Sujina Jooste, Executive Chef and director from American Hospitality Academy, South Africa.
Mr. Samir Thapa, principal of the College, welcomed all the guests present and shared some of SMSH?s achievements. SMSH has been able to maintain its overall goal of providing quality education for creating skilled individuals of international standards. Mr. Samir Thapa also elaborated on the various agreements with partner Universities and Colleges around the globe.
Total of eighty-four graduates were felicitated during the ceremony. ?The Outstanding Student ? award was given to Ms. Chandrika Gurung for overall performance and the ?Best Student among Hospitality? was awarded to Ms. Sita Poudel and ?Best Student among Culinary Arts? was awarded to for academic excellence to Mr. Zenith Kandel, the ?Best Teacher Award? was presented to Mr. Tilak Sapkota while ?Best Employee Award? was presented to Ms. Pashi Tamang.
And later in the evening all the students celebrated a ?Prom Night? at 1905 Restaurant with music dance and lavish dinner. It was time to relax and take a well deserved break from studies and project work. Teachers, students, staff and invitees all were taking in cool breeze and cooler music.
Overall all it wsa a day filled with heartfelt music, good food and joyous moments.We can hardly wait for the next year?s ceremony.

| GRADUATION 2009 |
Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management (SMSH) celebrated its fifth Graduation Ceremony on 16 May,2009 at Soaltee Crowne Plaza in midst of a lavish ceremony and cultural programme organized by the junior students. Between the panas lighting ceremony and welcoming speech there were school video presntation, ”When the Children Cry” originally sung by White Lion, drama, and diya ceremony. A lit diyo signifies the light of knowledge. And finally the Nobel Lauret Rabindranath Tagore?s inspirational prayer ”Where the mind is without fear”. It was another milestone for SMSH.
With great pride SMSH has sent 47 confident graduates to venture in the world of hospitality. Despite less than rosy economic situation at home and abroad due to global
recession, these students were clearly ready to face the challenges assured in the fact the school had prepared them in the exciting and challenging world of hospitality. These students like the previous graduates will find placements in resorts, hotels, cruise lines, airlines and restaurants.
Mr. Samir Thapa, principal of the College welcomed all present and shared some of SMSH's achievement. SMSH has been able to maintain its overall goal of providing quality education for creating skilled manpower of international standard. The Chief Guest, Mr Prachanda Man Shrestha, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board reminded the students to be enterprenuers and create employement instead seeking employment.
Forty seven graduates were felicitated during the ceremony. ”The Outstanding Student” award was given to Ayushma Ghimire for overall performance and ”Best Student” was awarded to Mr. Umesh Ghaju for being academically excellent. ”Best Teacher Award” was given to Mr. Ajit Doddabela while ”Best Employee” award was presented to Mr. Deependra Manandhar. This year SMSH showed its appreciation to supporting hotels who provided intership opportunities to its students.They were:

After the exciting 5th Graduation Ceremony held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, it was night of fun and dance organized by the junior students. Students dressed in their party best, were living it up to celebrate the graduation. Ms. Elina Rajbhandari and Mr. Prabesh Gurung were crowned the prom queen and king. |
